North American Securities Administrators Association, Inc.

WHAT WE DO:

The North American Securities Administrators Association, Inc. (NASAA) is the oldest international organization devoted to investor protection. Organized in 1919, NASAA is a voluntary association with a membership consisting of the securities administrators in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the 13 Canadian provinces.

In the United States, NASAA is the voice of the 50 state securities agencies, which serve as a highly effective resource in the pursuit of greater financial literacy. The organization represents a nationwide network of highly trained, unbiased, non-commercial experts in financial services, products, and fraud avoidance. NASAA members are on the front lines of financial education initiatives in every state, translating Wall Street to Main Street for small investors throughout the country.

Reaching young citizens with financial education at a very early age can help them build a lifetime of good money management skills. NASAA members believe that financial education is the first and best defense against financial fraud, abuse, and exploitation.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Investor Education Materials

Through the NASAA Web site, visitors will find a wealth of information to help them build both financial knowledge and financial security. Among other educational experiences on the NASAA Web site, visitors can utilize the Senior Investor Resource Center, the NASAA Fraud Center, find brochures on a number of investor education topics and locate state and provincial-specific resources available through individual NASAA members. www.nasaa.org

Investor Alerts & Tips

NASAA's members investigate fraud and consequently see firsthand what con artists are pitching to investors. In an effort to beat scammers to the punch, NASAA regularly issues Investor Alerts to the media to educate the public and prevent fraud. Check out the latest Investor Traps and Alerts on the NASAA Web site for a snapshot of what our members see in the field every day.

Grassroots Network

Nearly all state and provincial securities regulators have established investor education departments or divisions within their agencies. The result is a unique network of dedicated professionals delivering financial education at the grassroots level throughout North America. NASAA members can be found at work in such venues as the classroom, the workplace, senior centers, and at trade and professional organization events. They partner with teachers, employers, and peer-based volunteer groups to deliver financial education to our constituents of all ages. In fact, since November 2006, NASAA members have taken investor education tools directly to the public through more than 1,227 presentations reaching more than 197,902 investors.

WHAT WE NEED:

NASAA looks for opportunities to join forces with other members of the financial education community and is a member of the Jump$tart Coalition board of directors. NASAA believes it is essential to pool its resources and share its expertise on these joint ventures. NASAA members are a great grassroots resource participating in many Jump$tart state coalitions and serving to educate the public about education wisely and avoiding investment fraud.
