WHAT WE DO:
Biz Kid$ (www.bizkids.com) is a national financial literacy initiative that teaches kids about money and business. The cornerstone of the project is an award-winning public TV series that targets 9-16 year old kids and is produced by the same creators of "Bill Nye the Science Guy." The series airs on more than 300 public TV stations, where viewership is more than one million per episode. The project has also just completed significant outreach efforts with school districts and public TV stations, and has reached more than six million people!
Biz Kid$ is one of the most effective ways of reaching kids with financial literacy information–the show's entertaining format captures kids attention and then incorporating the free companion curriculum, enables a classroom facilitator to further enhance the learning.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Biz Kid$ Curriculum and DVDs
Biz Kid$ offers free companion curriculum for teachers and parents, as well as a monthly newsletter, which are all downloadable from its resource-rich Web site. Teachers have free off-air record rights for each episode, or they can purchase the DVDs.
Outreach Activities
Many communities and after-school programs have partnered with their local public TV station to hold Biz Kid$ financial literacy events. Biz Kid$ offers two electronic toolkits to assist event organizers and teachers, and can coordinate contacts with local public broadcasters for additional support.

WHAT WE NEED:
Biz Kid$ needs help with production funding to get to a total of 65 episodes, and to implement additional outreach activities. After a TV series reaches 65 episodes broadcasters will start airing it on a daily basis. This will help increase exposure of financial literacy concepts to kids nationwide.
Biz Kid$ has half the funding needed already in place, but we are currently looking for 10 additional significant funders.
In exchange for sponsorship partners receive a funding credit in each episode, corporate presence on all curriculum, outreach materials, Web site, and more. Biz Kid$ is also able to share its video assets for corporate use.
WHAT'S NEW:
Awards
Biz Kid$ recently won two prestigious awards–its first national Daytime Emmy Award, and an Environmental Media Award for its episode titled 'The Green Economy and You.'
