The month of April is designated each year on a national and state level as a month to recommit to teaching ourselves and our children the basics of financial education. Louisiana Jump$tart Coalition observes this month with programs and activities by our partners to help youth and adults improve their understanding of financial principles and practices. President Obama and Governor Jindal signed proclamations declaring April as Financial Literacy Month along with the Mayors of these 12 Louisiana cities and towns:
We appreciate their support!
Our partners were busy during this month visiting (83) schools, churches and organizations sharing information on saving, budgeting, understanding credit and credit scores, identity theft, and home buying, among other topics with over 15,630 kids and adults.
