ACA INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION
WHAT WE DO:
Founded in 1995, the ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF) is the philanthropic arm of ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. The Foundation’s goal is to promote the goal of increasing financial literacy in the United States. In addition to Ask Doctor Debt, our efforts have included, National Credit Education Week, distribution of youth financial literacy kits, the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship and modest grant making.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Ask Doctor Debt is a free and valuable resource for consumers to help better understand debt collection and their rights. Created by the ACA International Education Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) committed to consumer financial literacy, www.askdoctordebt.org includes:
- Information about consumer rights and obligations when contacted about a debt such as working with a debt collector, disputing a debt, garnishment, mortgage and foreclosure, and the rights of military personnel.
- Consumer-friendly tools and tips for budgeting and managing finances, including an interactive personal financial management web course as well as links to useful resources.
- A comprehensive Questions and Answers section of consumer inquiries that provides valuable information on a number of topics related to debt collection and consumer rights.
- A robust glossary of common terms used by creditors and debt collectors.
