American Payroll Association

The American Payroll Association (APA), established in 1982, is the nation's leader in payroll education and training. In addition to training more than 16,000 professionals each year in matters of payroll compliance and administration, APA works to educate America's workers on issues relating to their paychecks and the payroll withholding system. APA conducts several public awareness media campaigns throughout the year. From what to check on your W-2 form, to the hours teens can work on summer jobs, and working for tips, APA strives to educate workers of all ages on the many aspects of paychecks and withholding. APA's year-round Web site devoted to National Payroll Week, www.nationalpayrollweeek.com, provides a free, streaming video version of APA's popular handbook, Your Paycheck. A PDF version of this invaluable employee guidebook is now available for companies to license and post on their company Intranets. This APA site provides a wealth of free information relating to paychecks, withholding, savings, Social Security and more. Local APA chapters across the country offer presentations to students and community groups throughout the year. APA is the payroll industry's collective voice in Washington, D.C., and publishes a complete payroll compliance, training and reference library. For more information: www.americanpayroll.org
