WHAT WE DO:

ClearPoint is a national, nonprofit NFCC-member agency. Its mission is to promote consumer health through financial education. We are currently offering a free, long-term financial education program for families with children in grades K through eight. Participants will work towards achieving their financial goals and earn incentives along the way.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Free Financial Education – Family Financial Fitness

Made possible through a Chase Card Services Financial Literacy Grant, Family Financial Fitness (FFF) is designed to support parents with education and counseling, and teach their children sound money management skills. While the program is free, a family’s participation will be rewarded with financial incentives:

  • Program Enrollment, per family $25
  • Completion of Credit When Credit is Due, per parent       $25
  • Attendance at follow-up counseling, per family $25
  • Enrollment at Centsables®, per child enrolled $25

(Each child who enters Kindergarten during the family’s participation in FFF must enroll in Centsables®)

By participating, all will benefit by:

  • Attending a one-hour session with a ClearPoint Financial Specialist every six months, and providing:
    • Updated income documents
    • Updated billing statements for household bills
    • Updated billing statements/collection notices for all accounts
    • Updated bank statements
  • Completing a brief informational course, Credit When Credit is Due, within six months of enrollment (home study, at their own pace)
  • Working toward meeting their financial goals
  • Participating in surveys conducted by ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions with regard to the Family Financial Fitness Program
  • Helping children (grades K-8) access the online program by The Centsables® and through their printed materials and activities
