Teach Children to Save (TCS) program is available to second grade teachers located in the Cook, Lake and DuPage counties. The program matches financial industry volunteers, who present a savings lesson and activity, with second grade classrooms. The volunteer will leave the book and lesson with the teacher at the end of the 45 minute presentation and activity. The classroom visits take place during the second week in May.
Teachers simply register and select a class period convenient to their schedule. The volunteer take care of the rest! Illinois Personal Finance Challenge (IPFC) & Illinois Economics Challenge (ILEC) are student competitions available to high school teachers throughout the state. Both competitions are free of cost with the first level of competition taking place online – truly making them available to all students (working in teams) regardless of location. Both programs offer advanced levels of competition for those student teams that qualify. Both programs provide resources to guide teachers through participation as well as support the teachers in the classroom. Awards are provided.
Teachers may register through February 1! For details on the programs and to view testimonial videos, visit the webpages:
