Since 1970, the Federal Citizen Information Center (FCIC) has been a trusted one-stop source for answers to questions about consumer problems and government services. FCIC is a separately funded part of the Office of Citizen Services and Communications in the U.S. General Services Administration. Consumers can get the information they need in a variety of ways:
1. By calling toll-free 1(800) FED-INFO from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Eastern Time, M - F for federal information and assistance;
2. By visiting one of FCIC's family of websites, including:
www.USA.gov - the U.S. government's official web portal
www.pueblo.gsa.gov - featuring a wealth of information on a variety of consumer topics
www.kids.gov - links to Federal kids' sites and some of the best kids' sites from other organizations, all grouped by subject
www.consumeraction.gov - online access to the Consumer Action Handbook with links to hundreds of companies and state and local government offices to register complaints directly;
3. By using the free, quarterly Consumer Information Catalog to order copies of free and low-cost Federal publications on government benefits, housing, money management, credit, health, education, travel, and much more.
