WHAT WE DO:
The Jump$tart Coalition National Educator Conference was the first national conference for classroom teachers dedicated to personal finance education. The Jump$tart Coalition launched the first National Educator Conference in 2009, bringing together more than 250 classroom educators from 46 different states. The conference offers Pre-K to 12 educators financial education resources, personal development, access to a nation-wide network of colleagues, and general support for financial education. The conference also provides the Jump$tart Coalition® partner organizations with exposure and an opportunity to share their resources and expertise with educators.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Financial Education Resources
The National Educator Conference is an opportunity for educators to experience financial education resources through breakout sessions and exhibits that can immediately be applied in the classroom. Educators discover new resources that facilitate financial literacy education.
Personal Development
Educators engaging students in financial literacy must personally understand and practice sound financial practices. The conference offers educators a chance to personally learn and apply concepts of financial education.
Networking and Support
The National Educator Conference introduces educators to a nationwide network of like-minded colleagues. Jump$tart Coalition treats teachers as the valuable professionals they are. Educators also discover the level of industry support for the financial literacy effort.
WHAT’S NEW:
Second Annual Conference
The second annual conference will take place November 5-7, 2010, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC. The conference is generously underwritten by Experian and Wells Fargo, with educational support from the National Education Association (NEA). Educators of all experience levels, fields, and grade can benefit from the workshops, educational resources, and networking opportunities at the National Educator Conference. Educators can also earn 10 CEU credits for their conference participation. Online teacher registration begins September 7, 2010. The cost for the conference is heavily subsidized, so spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
WHAT WE NEED:
Jump$tart aspires to bring financial literacy opportunities and education to all students. We hope that educators from around the nation can join us in working to achieve this goal. The National Educator Conference brings together new ideas, resources, and people in building sound financial futures for our nation’s youth. We need educators to partner with us as we engage in this endeavor.
