In partnership with its sponsor, LSU, Campus Federal held its Workplace Financial Literacy Graduation ceremony on Monday, December 17, 2012. Twenty-two LSU facility service employees from the LSU A&M and School of Veterinary Medicine campuses were recognized for completing Campus Federal’s 18-week Financial Literacy program. This marks the 8th graduating class since inception of the program in 2005. To date, over 200 LSU employees have completed the program. In addition, Campus Federal conducted 152 Financial Education seminars to 5,637 individuals throughout 2012. These free seminars focus on educating the public on key principals for attaining homeownership, saving money by learning to pay yourself first, understanding the dangers of credit card debt, important principals on maintaining a budget, techniques to avoid pay day lending services, and many other important financial education topics.
Since the launch of the financial education curriculum in 2005, Campus Federal has touched more than 45,000 individuals who have participated in the program, says Ron Moreau, vice president of business development and community. Moreau says the program’s success is directly related to the tireless leadership of our business development manager for financial education, Blaine Grimes.
Congratulations to our J$ partner, Campus Federal and thank you for all you do.
