2013 Financial Education Services Survey

Seeking Responses from Financial Education Service Providers

We are seeking to update a 2011 survey of organizations providing financial education services in Maine and we need your help.  If you are an organization that provides financial education services in Maine, we encourage you to complete the survey below. Your participation is an important step to providing Maine educators and communities access to financial education resources. The information you provide will be used to create a clearinghouse that will fulfill the one stop need of educators and community members seeking financial education curriculum and services.

 Survey Background:

In 2011, the Finance Authority of Maine in conjunction with The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy conducted a survey to gather information regarding financial education services offered in Maine.  The goal of the survey was to gather sufficient information that could be condensed and made available online through a clearinghouse for educators and community members interested in accessing financial education resources.  The clearinghouse will fulfill the one-stop need of an educator with limited or no experience teaching personal finance to access information regarding financial education curriculum and resources available state-wide and in their local community.  In addition, the clearinghouse will contain contact information of financial professionals willing to teach personal finance related content.  The tool will also be used to assess what efforts are being made state-wide to improve financial capability. This assessment will enable FAME and Maine Jump$tart to identify methods to improve collaboration and access to financial education resources and services throughout Maine.
