Year in Review

2011 was another banner year for Colorado Jump$tart Coalition.

  • In partnership with Jump$tart Teacher Training Alliance, we piloted a 3-day Fiscal Fitness Workshop for 150 educators from across Colorado.  The workshop was designed to provide educators with important money management concepts for their own personal use.  The 3-day workshop started with a general session focused on economic issues.  Educators could then choose from an array of sessions covering such topics as budgeting, risk management, identity theft,  financial services, and more.  The evaluations were stellar!
  • Our third annual Money Smart Colorado Week included 80 partners who provided more than 100 personal finance sessions throughout the state.  The capstone to the week was a free Great-West Great Teachers workshop, provided in partnership with Great-West Life for 150 educators!  The one-day workshop was a perfect follow-up to the 3-day worskhop and provide educators with the "how to" engage students in personal finanical literacy in their classrooms.  Teacers were provided with a plethora of resources.
  • This was the inaugural year of the Great-West Great-Teachers Personal Financial Literacy initiative and it was amazing!  A selection committee comprised of Great-West Life executives  and Colorado Jump$tart  partners selected 25 educators from across Colorado to implement personal finanical literacy in their P-12 classrooms.  Selected educators were awarded $5000.00 each. Colorado Jump$tart partners conducted site visits to observe and evaluate the effectiveness of the classroom activities.
