Financial Literacy Challenge

The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of Education have teamed up to launch the national financial Capability Challenge, a non-monetary awards program designed to increase the financial knowledge and capability of high school aged youth across the United States.  Educators and top-scoring high-school aged students (ages 13-19) in each school will earn personalized award certificates and states with the highest participation rates will also be recognized.  To learn more, visit the Challenge website at http://challenge.treas.gov/. President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy

On January 22, 2008, President George W. Bush signed an executive order that established the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy (PACFL) within the U.S. Department of Treasury.  Laura Levine, executive director of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy®, was apponted to the Council.  Please click on press release for a copy of the announcement of the two-year appointment.  You can also download a copy of PACFL's Report to the President.
