Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy
The
Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition is an inclusive, non-profit
organization with more than fifty individual and organizations
representing business, non-profit, government and education. These
groups have joined forces to form a local coalition in an effort to
coordinate and streamline the process of improving the personal
financial literacy of school children and young adults in the Great
Washington DC region.
The Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition seeks to encourage
public awareness of the importance of financial literacy for grades
K-12, enhance professional development for teachers, facilitate
partnerships (business, government, schools and non-profits), and
promote the financial literacy resources and activities of member
organizations.
The Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition is a proud
affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial
Literacy. The National Jump$tart Coalition, based in Washington, DC was
first convened in 1995 and consist of over 200 organizations committed
to improving the financial literacy of American's youth.
Membership in the Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition provides:
Partners: We advance our partners' initiatives, as a true
coalition, through resource sharing on promotions, events, newsletters
and our Web site.
Educators: We provide access to a vast clearinghouse of
financial literacy curriculum and highly trained volunteers from our
coalition members.
Parents: We provide access to programs, games and interactive
tools to teach children the importance of learning basic financial
skills.

product.
