Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas, Inc. (CCCS of Greater Dallas) hosted a Community Town Hall on Improving Financial Literacy on October 27, 2010. The free, financial education panel was open to the public and featured financial experts: Elisabeth Leamy, financial author and "Good Morning America" Consumer Correspondent; Alfreda Norman, Community Affairs Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; Pamela Yip, Finance Writer for the Dallas Morning News; and Todd Mark, Vice President of Education for CCCS of Greater Dallas. In addition to the foundation blocks of financial literacy, event topics included:
- Surviving and recovering from unemployment
- Managing debt levels
- Building and maintaining good credit
- Building savings and other assets
- Creating best practices to create stability and security moving forward.
