Recently, the Jump$tart Coalition received a grant from Bank of America, which will be used, in part, to fund enhancements to the Jump$tart Clearinghouse. Please check back in the near future to see the improvements. In the mean time, we hope you find the Clearinghouse helpful in finding useful, relevant educational tools and resources.

The Jump$tart Coalition encourages schools and organizations serving youth to strengthen personal finance education and insure that personal financial management skills are attained during the K-12 educational experience.

Clearinghouse Functions

  • To identify personal finance education materials for use in Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms, in a variety of formats and from multiple sources.
  • To provide timely assistance to information seekers, largely through electronic services.

How to Search the Jump$tart database

Users may search the online Jump$tart Personal Finance database by:

  • grade level
  • key words
  • title
  • source
  • media type -- books, videos, software, teaching guides, pamphlets, Web pages
  • Jump$tart major descriptors -- income, money management, saving and investing, spending and credit

How to locate ordering information
Jump$tart does not distribute materials from the online Clearinghouse. We do provide ordering information so that you can contact the publisher or source of the titles you select from your search results.

  1. To find ordering information about any of the titles listed in your search results, click on the BLUE title of the resource. You will see further information for that title.
  2. Scroll down until you find the Ordering Information Box. The ordering information may be a web address for the resource that you can download from the web. Or you may find an email address where you can write to order the material. Or you may find a phone, postal or web address where you can contact the source to order the materials.
How Materials Are Selected

The Clearinghouse uses the Educational Materials Review Checklist as a guide in the selection of materials to be included in the database. Although we review the materials for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness for educational use, inclusion in the database does not constitute endorsement of the materials. Implied endorsement by Jump$tart may not be used in any way to advertise the materials

How to Submit Educational Materials

To suggest material to be reviewed for possible inclusion in the database, use the Jump$tart Personal Finance Clearinghouse Materials Submission Form (Click Here). For Clearinghouse questions, contact Rosella Bannister at rosellabannister@hotmail.com or Laura Levine at llevine@afsamail.org

The Gateway for Educational Materials, a project of the U.S. Department of Education, is an online searchable catalog of educational materials. The Jump$tart Personal Finance Clearinghouse materials are included in GEM. Click on the GEM logo to search the GEM database.
