The Illinois Jump$tart Coalition believes that all K-12 students and young adults need to have the financial capability necessary to make informed financial decisions.

Mission Statement: The Mission of the Illinois Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is to be a catalyst for enhancing the financial capability of young people through cooperation, collaboration and communication among Members.

To achieve our Mission, we have adopted the following goals:

  • Raise public awareness of the importance of financial capability.

  • Enhance the professional development of Illinois educators.

  • Be the preferred resource for financial education information in Illinois.

The Illinois Jump$tart Coalition is a proud affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy. The National Jump$tart Coalition, based in Washington, D.C., was first convened in 1995 and consists of over 200 organizations committed to improving the financial literacy of America's youth.
