Named the 2008 State Coalition of Year, the Virginia Jump$tart Coalition is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to improving the financial literacy of Virginians.
The Virginia Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy will meet on Tuesday January 31, from 2:30-4:30 at the Virginia Society of CPAs (4309 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060).
Come hear what the Coalition has planned for 2012 and learn about how you can get involved. In addition, you’ll get an update on the status of the new course requirement in Economics and Personal Finance and learn about financial therapy-a relatively new area that considers the emotional and behavioral components of financial decision making. Do you need a guest speaker to present financial literacy topics such as investing, saving, financing, or insurance? Virginia Jump$tart's Speakers Bureau is a network of volunteers in Virginia who wish to promote personal financial literacy within Virginia school systems and communities. Jump Start members offer their knowledge and expertise to guest speak on a variety of topics. Volunteers are listed according to topic, regions of Virginia, and company name.
