All of us were affected this week by the senseless, evil actions in Uvalde, Texas. Our thoughts and prayers are with educators and students across our nation and especially the families of the precious children and teachers taken too soon. Here is a message from our CEO, Laura Levine:
“As I lead an organization that strives to better the financial futures of our nation’s children, I’m grief-stricken for the children of Uvalde whose futures have been cut short. As a parent, my heart breaks for their parents. And of course, Jump$tart’s special love and admiration for teachers makes it almost unbearable to have lost two more. I know you will join the Jump$tart team as we mourn this senseless loss and hope for a better tomorrow.” -Laura Levine
John W. Ryan, President and CEO, CSBS
Many of you have already heard the sad news that John Ryan, President and CEO of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors, passed away unexpectedly on May 16. Here is a link to the CSBS announcement. John represented CSBS on Jump$tart’s national Board since 2011. He was a thoughtful, steadfast supporter of Jump$tart and our effort to advance financial literacy, and generously hosted Jump$tart’s summer Board meeting at CSBS. We hope you will join us in recognizing his leadership in the banking field, mourning his passing, and extending condolences to his family, friends, and CSBS.
