The American Financial Services Association (AFSA) Education Foundation was established in February 1990 as a nonprofit organization to heighten consumers’ awareness of personal financial responsibility. The mission of the AFSA Education Foundation is to educate individuals about personal finance concepts and to help them realize the benefits of responsible money management.

WHAT WE OFFER

MoneySKILL® is the foundation’s premier offering. This comprehensive online personal finance program was designed by experts and is endorsed by educators, as well as their students. It includes the content areas of income, expenses, saving and investing, credit, and insurance. Students can access the modules in the classroom, at home, or wherever an Internet connection is available. Built-in quizzes test students’ grasp of each concept. Two versions are available: High School/College and Junior High/Middle School level. The high school and college course is designed to be used as all or part of a course in economics, business, math, social studies or wherever personal finances are taught.

WHAT’S NEW

  • MoneySKILL is now available in Spanish!
  • We’ve also expanded the number of modules within the program from 36 to 37. Therefore, in addition to the already existing Operating a Vehicle module, we’ve now added Preparing to Acquire a Vehicle and Vehicle Financing.
  • Following the overall relaunch of MoneySKILL last fall, we recreated all of the charts within the program to give them a more polished and consistent look.

WHAT WE NEED

We’re excited to report that we now have more than 850,000 MoneySKILL users but there is more work to do. Please help us spread the word about this free online personal finance program to educators across the country and around the globe. We welcome the opportunity to work with partners and other supporters to address the importance of money skills.
