Now more than ever, teachers are turning to the budgeting, banking and stock games found in PersonalFinanceLab.com to provide their students the real-world financial literacy skills that they so desperately need.

This experiential learning platform is based on the premise that students learn by doing. Biology and Chemistry classes have labs, now Personal Finance does too! With our budgeting, banking, and credit  simulation, students manage their checking, savings, and credit card accounts as they play 12 virtual months of trying to live on a monthly budget and deal with all of life’s expected and unexpected events.  With our stock market game, students build a portfolio of stocks, bonds, mutual funds in real-time and watch their portfolio swing with the real market.

They have so much fun using the real-life simulations, they don’t realize they’re gaining financial literacy skills that they will use today, tomorrow, and for the rest of their lives.

PersonalFinanceLab is a fully customizable platform that combines four resources in one:

  • A Personal Budgeting Game that includes budgeting, banking, and credit scores
  • A Stock Market Game that includes stocks, bonds and mutual funds
  • Embedded Curriculum aligned to State and National Standards
  • Built-in Assessments, Certifications, and Reports to make teaching easier and learning more engaging

Students will be thankful at the end of your course for the life skills they’ll have learned. They will know many financial literacy concepts like balancing their wants vs. their needs, the consequences of their financial decisions, how to build an emergency savings fund, how to build a good credit score, how to use a debit and credit card responsibly, and how to balance risk and grow their wealth on the financial markets.
Our embedded curriculum has over 300 lessons on personal finance, investing, economics, business, marketing and career prep. All these resources are fast and easy to set-up, with course outlines, tutorial videos and research tools so everything is available in one place!

PersonalFinanceLab can be used as a dedicated resource in the classroom, an independent after school program, or as an extracurricular activity.

PersonalFinanceLab works tirelessly to continue to provide the most realistic and educational experience to you and your students. Recent enhancements include: part-time job to full-time job modes; pre and post-tests so you can see how much knowledge your students have acquired on core financial literacy topics; detailed reporting so you can check which lessons your students struggle with.

Doing our part to help those that need it most, we’ve also launched a program to support 100 Title 1 schools across the country.  We can do more if we had more corporate support; we seek corporate sponsors to help us reach even more schools. If you are interested in supporting this program, please send us an email and let us know!

April Financial Literacy Challenge – Anyone who wants to try PersonalFinanceLab for free is invited to join our April Financial Literacy Challenge.
