NEWS RELEASE
Redesigned Clearinghouse is a One-Stop Shop for Reliable Financial Education Resources
Now Includes Financial Literacy Research
The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy today unveiled the redesigned Jump$tart Clearinghouse, a searchable database of curated financial education resources from hundreds of providers. The newly redesigned Clearinghouse offers users enhanced graphics and more precise search filters, as well as new listing categories for advocacy tools and financial literacy research reports, to complement the wide variety of financial education resources.
Resources in the Jump$tart Clearinghouse must meet criteria, which help to assure users that they are finding reliable tools and information that align with the National Standards for Personal Financial Education. Listing criteria prohibit resources that sell, promote, or recommend specific financial products, services, or investments, offering users – especially the families and teachers of kids and teens – a commercial-free environment. The redesign streamlined the process for Providers to submit their resources for consideration.
“The Jump$tart Clearinghouse supports Check Your School, our public-engagement campaign to get effective financial education in schools across the country, emphasizing effectiveness by helping educators find the best resources available,” said Laura Levine, Jump$tart President and CEO. “It also serves as a platform to support the outstanding contributions of our Partners and other resource Providers.”
The Jump$tart Clearinghouse is publicly available to anyone searching for financial education resources. Most of the resources are free or low-cost and there is no fee for listing resources. The Jump$tart Clearinghouse redesign was sponsored by a grant from the National Endowment for Financial Education and guided by a subcommittee of Jump$tart partner organizations.
