Hill Day 2020 – Canceled
After careful consideration, Jump$tart has announced the cancellation of Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill, scheduled for June 24, 2020 in the Rayburn House Office Building.
We thank U.S. Representatives Joyce Beatty (OH-03) and Steve Stivers (OH-15), co-chairs of the House Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus, who were slated to serve as honorary co-chairs of our 2020 Hill Day event, and their staffs, who were instrumental to us in the planning process. We thank the generous supporters who had committed in advance to sponsor the event.
Jump$tart has already rescheduled our Annual Awards Dinner for December, to follow our National Educator Conference held annually in November. We believe that postponing Hill Day to the late part of 2020 could be detrimental to all of these events and that the nature of Hill Day is not conducive to a virtual substitute. We reluctantly drew the conclusion that we had no choice but to cancel this year’s Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill due to travel restrictions and large-event bans still in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
