The CheckYourSchool.org website and social media pages are currently under construction. Please come back to visit when this site and the #CheckYourSchool campaign launch in January 2019.
Check Your School is the first public engagement campaign of the Project Groundswell initiative, announced earlier this year at the Jump$tart National Partner Meeting during Financial Literacy Month. The principal goal of Project Groundswell is to increase financial education in our nation’s classrooms 25 percent by the end of 2025. Supporting goals include increasing professional development opportunities for teachers and strengthening financial education through recommended elements of effectiveness appropriate for elementary, middle, and high school.
CheckYourSchool.org will feature an interactive tool where parents, grandparents, guardians, families, friends, and neighbors can tell us about the financial education taking place at—or missing from—their own kids’ schools and where they can find tools and encouragement to help us start the conversation there. Five different toolkits will show individuals and entities how to join the campaign; there’s even a toolkit just for students.
The Teacher Toolkit will help educators and administrators find curriculum resources, standards, professional development and other support, to help them introduce or augment financial education in their classrooms.
We look forward to launching the #CheckYourSchool campaign. We’re almost ready. Hope you are, too!
