Michael has lead VyStar’s Academy of Business High School Program for eight years and has worked with VyStar Credit Union for almost eleven. Early in his career, Michael was nominated as the “Next Top Credit Union Executive” by VyStar and he has been recognized as an “Outstanding Business Individual of the Year” for Florida’s #1 rated school district, Saint Johns County. As the Vice President of School Programs, Michael serves as a School of Business Advisory Committee member for Florida State College of Jacksonville, serves as board chair on the YMCA Advisory Board for Clay County, FL and serves as the state delegate of Florida for the National Youth Involvement Board.
In close partnership with eight different school districts across Northeast and Central Florida (Saint Johns, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, Flagler, Bradford and Marion), Michael and his team have delivered financial education training to over 70,000 students through VyStar’s Academy of Business High School Program. In February of 2020, this program was recognized as the number one program in the nation (per asset size) and consequently awarded the prestigious Dejardins Youth Financial Education Award by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).
Michael and his wife live in Clay County Florida and have three beautiful daughters, ages 18, 15 and 9.
