Alabama Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy has several ways that you or your organization can impact our youth!

1. If you or your organization are actively engaged in promoting personal financial literacy among youth, we invite you to share details so it can be listed on the AJC website.

2. The Alabama Jump$tart Coalition is a charitable 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization. As such, in-kind donations such as the printing of promotional materials or hosting of meetings and events are greatly appreciated. The Coalition also welcomes monetary contributions. For more information on making a donation to the Alabama Jump$tart Coalition, please contact State Coalition President, Buffy Murphy at 205-437-2712.

3. To make a difference locally, organizations and individuals have several options:

Members: Volunteer to work with a local school or district to provide classroom presentations or teacher support.

Educators: Incorporate personal finance lessons in your classroom lessons.

Policy Makers: Consider ways to incorporate personal finance education into your school’s curriculum and teacher professional development programs. Remember, too, that you need not reinvent the wheel. The national Jump$tart Coalition can help you identify successful models.

Parents: Begin teaching your student about personal finance at a young age and continue to reinforce these skills through college. Resources to help reach your child can be obtained at the Jump$tart Clearinghouse.
