Jump$tart Student Honor Society for Personal Financial Literacy Application

The Jump$tart Student Honor Society for Personal Financial Literacy is a national student recognition program that celebrates student achievements in advancing financial literacy, as well as their commitment to living by sound money-management principles. By recognizing these young leaders, Jump$tart hopes to encourage students everywhere to learn about personal finance and practice informed financial decision-making.

To qualify for listing in the Jump$tart Student Honor Society, you must be a current 9th–12th grade student, who is knowledgeable about personal finance and committed to advancing financial literacy among your peers.

Complete all sections below to apply. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must also sign below.

SECTION 1 - Student Information

SECTION 2 - Evidence of Personal Financial Knowledge

You must provide evidence of AT LEAST ONE (1) of the following to demonstrate your knowledge of personal finance concepts.

Attach: Your transcript or report card highlighting the relevant course

Attach: Confirmation letter, certificate, or program showing your participation

SECTION 3 - Evidence of Commitment to Advancing Financial Literacy

You must provide evidence of AT LEAST TWO (2) of the following to demonstrate your commitment to advancing financial literacy among your peers.

Attach: Jump$tart-provided certificate or confirmation from your high school teacher
Max. file size: 1 MB.
Attach: A copy or screen capture of your published blog or Op-Ed; a docket or agenda confirming your public testimony; a copy or screen capture of the news story for which you were interviewed. Alternatively, you may insert a link to the website or news article below.
Max. file size: 1 MB.
Attach: Club roster, school recognition letter, or other documentation of your role
Max. file size: 1 MB.
Attach: We have a record of all resources submitted to the Jump$tart Clearinghouse. If your name does not appear on the resource, please attach documentation that shows your role in writing or creating the resource.

Attach: Written confirmation of your participation in the program (event flyer or other verifiable documentation).
Max. file size: 1 MB.

SECTION 4 - Personal Statement

In 150–250 words, describe why financial literacy matters to you and how your efforts have made a difference in your future, your family or community.

SECTION 5 - Certification & Signature

By typing your name below and selecting the acknowledgment checkbox, you certify that all information provided in this application is true, accurate, and complete, you agree to the terms and conditions of the application, and you authorize Jump$tart Coalition to include you in the Honor Society (if accepted), which may include your name, school, city and state. You understand that any false or misleading statements may result in disqualification or removal from the Jump$tart Student Honor Society for Personal Financial Literacy.

SECTION 6 — Website Recognition Preference

The name, school, city and state of all students accepted into the Student Honor Society will appear on the Jump$tart website until one year after high school graduation. If you prefer that your name not be published, please indicate below:
