Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill

September 3, 2025 - 12 - 2:30 p.m. - Cannon Caucus Room

Join Us September 3, 2025 – Cannon Caucus Room

The Jump$tart Coalition and National Endowment for Financial Education are set to host our annual Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill, presented on behalf of this year’s honorary co-hosts, U.S. Representatives Young Kim (R-CA) and Joyce Beatty (D-OH), co-chairs of the House Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus.

Free and Open to the Public

Each year, Hill Day offers a buffet lunch, made possible by our generous sponsors, and remarks by the honorary co-hosts and other dignitaries.  The highlight of the event is an exhibit fair, featuring programs, resources, and information from Jump$tart Coalition National Partners and other key contributors to the financial literacy field. Free and open to the public, Hill Day typically attracts more than 300 people, including Members of Congress and their staffs, leaders of the financial literacy community, and the other visitors.

There is no pre-registration required to attend this event.  All participants must pass through security upon entering the Cannon House Office Building.

Exhibitor Registration is Now Open

While registration is not required for attendees, Jump$tart Partners and other nationally-focused financial literacy stakeholders must register for exhibit space for this event. The exhibitor registration deadline is August 1 or whenever the event space reaches capacity, whichever comes first. Exhibit space is complimentary for Jump$tart National Partners and will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Exhibit space usually fills up before the deadline, so we encourage you to act quickly.

Exhibitor registration will open to nationally-focused financial literacy stakeholders that are not yet Jump$tart Partners on June 2, 2025, on a space available and first-come, first-served basis. The exhibitor fee is $1,000.

For questions about exhibiting at this year’s Hill Day, please contact Stacey Gardiner at Jump$tart.  Thank you to the organizations already committed to exhibiting this year!

We hope to see you in September!

Hill Day History

Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill was introduced in 2003 by the Council for Economic Education, Junior Achievement, and the Jump$tart Coalition, with the office of the late U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI) serving as the original honorary host.  Jump$tart eventually took over as convener of the event on behalf of its coalition partners and today, presents the event in partnership with the National Endowment for Financial Education.  The venue alternates between the U.S. House of Representatives side and the Senate side of Capitol Hill.

U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI) and Michael Enzi (R-WY) served as honorary co-hosts on the Senate side until Senator Akaka’s retirement.  U.S. Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) joined Senator Enzi as honorary co-host in 2014.  In 2016, three co-chairs of the Senate Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus took over as the honorary co-hosts and in 2018, the event was honorarily co-hosted by Sen. Reed, along with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).  Retired U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-TX-15) served as honorary co-host on the House side from 2005 – 2015, along with retired U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-IL-13) through 2011.  In 2013, Rep. Steve Stivers (R-OH-15) took over for Rep. Biggert following her departure from Congress and Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH-3) joined him as the new honorary co-host in 2017 following Rep. Hinojosa’s retirement, and again in 2019.  After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty and U.S. Rep. Young Kim (R-CA-40) served as honorary co-hosts in 2023.

Laura Levine, president and CEO of the Jump$tart Coalition, has served as the event emcee since 2004, representing the many coalition partners that participate.
