About the Jump$tart NEC

The Jump$tart National Educator Conference (NEC) was launched in 2009 with seed funding from our Founding Conference Underwriter, Experian, and the support of many generous sponsors. Today, the Jump$tart NEC is the premier national conference dedicated exclusively to financial education in PreK-12 classrooms and the exceptional educators who teach it. To ensure that all deserving teachers have the opportunity to attend, regardless of their school’s ability to pay, every teacher at the Jump$tart NEC attends on scholarship, with representation from almost every state and every grade level.

The Jump$tart NEC is designed to provide teachers with practical ideas, innovative resources, and classroom-ready strategies that they can begin to use right away. Feedback from participants in prior years continues to shape the program. Just as importantly, networking is a hallmark of this conference.  If you’re the only one teaching personal finance at your school or district – come meet the “department colleagues” you never knew you had. We love hearing about the teachers who have made lasting friendships that stretch across many miles. And by the way, come hungry, too, because our meal events are special and one of the ways we say thank you for all that you do.

Thirty years ago, the Jump$tart Coalition was founded on the belief that we could achieve our financial literacy goals more efficiently and effectively by working together. Everything we do is a collaborative endeavor, and the Jump$tart NEC is no exception. From breakout sessions to the exhibit hall, the Jump$tart NEC features a wide variety of Jump$tart Partners and other stakeholders from business, finance, academia, government, the nonprofit sector and more – diverse entities with a shared commitment to supporting financial education… and you.

This Year's Event – From Classroom to Life

Now in its 17th year, the Jump$tart National Educator Conference is set for November 6 – 8, 2026 at the breathtaking Gaylord Rockies Resort & Conference Center in Aurora, Colorado, just outside Denver.  Our lead underwriters – Charles Schwab, Experian, Intuit for Education, Next Gen Personal Finance, the Synchrony Foundation, and the Wells Fargo Foundation – along with many other valued sponsors, exhibitors, presenters, and other supporters, make the conference possible.

As financial educators, you’re preparing today’s student for their lives as adult consumers; and this year, the Jump$tart NEC will focus on some of the topics they’re already discussing out in the hallways – from AI to teen gambling to overcoming money emotions.  Join us as we explore the lessons that we think will take them from classroom to life.

In a few of our breakout sessions, you’ll notice something new this year – a video crew recording the entire session. These videos will allow us to share select content with educators who weren’t able to attend the conference, as Jump$tart continues to explore ways of helping more teachers to help more students.  Returning teachers, especially, will notice a new emphasis on advocacy at this year’s NEC and a Saturday session on how “the loudest voice in financial education is yours,” led by Jump$tart CEO Laura Levine.
