Join the Minnesota Jump$tart Coalition at Day at the Capitol on February 22nd!
February 22 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm EST
The Day at the Capitol is a great opportunity to meet with legislators to raise awareness of the importance of financial literacy among youth and young adults. We envision a State in which all youth and young adults have access to resources and participate in programming that allow them to become financially capable adults.
Over the past year, a group of community leaders has been working on a state-wide education initiative. A partnership has been formed between this new group, the Financial Literacy Coalition of Minnesota (FLCM), and the Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE). The FLCM is advocating for a bill requiring a personal finance course for high school graduation. This bill is moving forward in the current Minnesota legislative session.
Day at the Capitol: Wednesday, February 22nd 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The day will be filled with speeches from key legislation authors as well as FLCM and MCEE members. Attendees will meet with their legislators to discuss the importance of personal finance in high schools. Registration for the event will be organized by MCEE to coordinate meetings with legislators, especially between multiple constituents with the same legislators.
