PersonalFinanceLab aims to provide teachers the real-world financial literacy skills their students desperately need.

This experiential learning platform is based on the premise that students learn by doing. With our budgeting, banking, and credit simulation, students manage their checking, savings, and credit card accounts as they play 12 virtual months of trying to live on a monthly budget and deal with all of life’s expected and unexpected events. With our stock market game, students build a portfolio of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds in real-time and watch their portfolio swing with the real market.

They have so much fun using the real-life simulations they don’t realize they’re gaining financial literacy skills that they will use today, tomorrow, and for the rest of their lives.

PersonalFinanceLab is a fully customizable platform that combines four resources in one:

  • Personal Budgeting, Banking and Money Management Game that includes budgeting, banking, and credit scores
  • Stock Market Game that includes stocks, bonds, and mutual funds
  • Learning Resources aligned to State and National Standards
  • Built-in Assessments, Certifications, and Reports to make teaching easier and learning more engaging

Students will learn many financial literacy concepts like balancing their wants vs. their needs, the consequences of their financial decisions, how to build an emergency savings fund, how to make a good credit score, how to use a debit and credit card responsibly, and how to balance risk and grow their wealth on the financial markets.

We also have embedded lessons that address personal finance, investing, economics, and career prep topics, with automatically-graded assessments. All these resources are fast and easy to set up, with course outlines, tutorial videos, and research tools, so everything is available in one place!
PersonalFinanceLab can be a dedicated resource in the classroom, an independent after-school program, or an extracurricular activity. Click here to discover our platform!
